2011 High Point YachtFest (HPYF)

Sardinia and Corsica! We had such a great week exploring this wonderful area in 2010, that we decided to return there in 2011 and plan a different route to pick up the best of the places we didn’t have time to visit in 2010. The dates were 22/09/12 – 29/09/12. We started and finished in Portisco again. This time we were 9 boats! A fantastic leap in our 4th year. In our itinerary, we included Bonifacio, new areas of La Maddalena and La Tavolara before we finished in Portisco. Our famous gourmet night was while moored at La Tavolara – spectacular scenery and fantastic meals produced by all. Evert and Paul played guitar/harmonica duet, giving us all time favourites…. Ideas for 2013 have started pouring out … It was as if everyone wanted to make sure we will be back….

The week gave us one huge storm so we were stranded in beautiful Bonifacio for a day (could not complain…), followed by days of lovely sailing and friendly races. Again, we had people from everywhere! Our new friends from 2010 have now brought more people. They wanted to share their experience and fantastic time with others too.

Dutch won again! Carolyn Krijne Locker and her team have given us again the best sailing performance. Congratulations guys! We’ll beat you next year!

… As for the next year … there is so much about Sardinia that we love and we shall be back no doubt! But let us explore some of amazing Sicily first…
