Villa Miločer is the former summer residence of Queen Marija Karadordevic (the great granddaughter
of Queen Victoria and the Queen Consort of King Aleksandar of Yugoslavia), and later of Josip Broz Tito, the leader of Yugoslavia until 1980. The construction started in 1934 and was completed in January 1936. Today, it is phase one of Aman Sveti Stefan, completed in 2008. Across the bay the island of Sveti Stefan – a fortified fishing village dating from the 15th century – is presently undergoing an exciting transition to become the second phase of Aman Sveti Stefan.
