Sailing in Croatia and Montenegro

2009 has brought closer together two fantastic Adriatic coastlines – Croatia and Montenegro. Both are magnificent, dramatic, rich in history and offer a number of beautiful old towns, islands and bays, great for sailing, sightseeing, swimming. For a week charter, we suggest starting in Dubrovnik, sailing the Elafiti archipelago, sailing to Cavtat and then crossing to Montenegro to visit the Bay of Kotor (towns of Perast and Kotor are a must!), Budva and Sv Stefan before returning the boat to Dubrovnik. This can be easily organized with a bareboat charter as well as a crewed charter. The alternative option is to sail Croatia for a week, then hire a car to Montenegro which will allow you to explore the inland of the country that is incredibly beautiful. If you decide for this option, we highly recommend staying in Dobrota (between Perast and Kotor). Palazzo Radomiri, once lovely stone Captain’s residence has been turned into a great boutique hotel. The scenery of the bay of Kotor (Boka Kotorska) is stunning. For the ones who prefer the luxury of the Aman Resorts we recommend staying in the Villa Milocer.
